In my teaching, I focus on yoga philosophy and its application to daily life while working with the breath and conscious movement. I concentrate on anatomy and alignment, but I also love to “flow” and play, approaching the practice with a beginner’s mind by encouraging my students to remain curious to the body’s infinite potential.
Teaching for the Seattle King County Jail, MCC and WCCW, taught me how to offer yoga to all walks of life. After several years of teaching in correctional facilities, I founded the organization, Yoga Behind Bars: a living practice of karma yoga, the service of taking yoga off the mat and into the world.
Seventeen years of work as a massage therapist, and doula -specializing in prenatal yoga and pregnancy massage- also greatly informs my teaching. My classes are a blend of Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yoga therapy with a touch of Restorative yoga; bringing comfort to your body and peace to your mind.Studio Calendar
